APPLICATION::
1. Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems:
- Protection of Membranes: Chlorine in feedwater can permanently damage RO membranes, leading to their replacement. Chlorine scavengers like AntiChlor 427 (a modified, odorless liquid sodium bisulfite formulation) are used to remove chlorine before it reaches the membranes.
- Potable Water Systems: AntiChlor 30, a liquid dechlorinating agent, is used as a mild, non-oxidizing biostat or injected into RO feedwaters to protect polyamide membranes from permanent damage caused by chlorine.
2. Other Applications:
- Water Treatment: Chlorine scavengers are used to remove chlorine from water supplies, ensuring water quality and preventing chlorine-related issues.
- Industrial Processes: They are used in various industries, including pulp and paper, cleaning products, mining, bleach manufacturing, and plastics manufacturing.
- Detergent Compositions: Some chlorine scavengers are used in detergent compositions to prevent enzyme deactivation by residual chlorine.
