RXSOL Air Cooler Scale Dissolver

Technical Product Bulletin – Marine & Industrial Air Cooler Cleaning Chemical

Product Name: Air Cooler Scale Dissolver Brand: RXSOL Product Category: Industrial Descaling and Heat Exchanger Cleaning Chemical Chemical Type: Inhibited Acid-Based Descaling Solution Application: Marine Air Coolers, Heat Exchangers, Cooling Coils and Industrial Cooling Equipment

RXSOL Air Cooler Scale Dissolver is a specially formulated chemical cleaner designed for removing mineral scale, calcium deposits, rust stains and inorganic contamination from compatible air cooler components and heat exchange equipment.

The product combines scale-dissolving acids, wetting agents and corrosion inhibitors to penetrate and loosen deposits that reduce heat transfer efficiency and restrict airflow or fluid circulation.

It is suitable for selected marine and industrial cooling equipment, subject to compatibility with the construction materials.

Important: Air coolers may have aluminium fins, copper tubes, galvanized surfaces or stainless steel components. The appropriate cleaning chemistry must be selected according to the metallurgy. Conventional acidic descalers must not be used indiscriminately on aluminium or galvanized surfaces.

Air Cooler Scale Remover Cleaner Sea Water SIDE is specialized product to dissolve water scale smoothely. We are manufacturer and supplier of Air Cooler Cleaner Sea Water SIDE.

Technical Specifications

These are proposed formulation targets, not verified specifications for an existing RXSOL product.

Procedure-of-use: The most effective descaling is accomplished by circulation. In the case of small components, the soak method in an immersion bath can be used. If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease or sludge, then pre-cleaning with DEGREASER ( RXSOL OB 1005 ) is necessary. Depending on the extent of scaling, use a solution of 2.5-10% RXSOL-54-1008-025 . The solution will have a red colour which changes to orange when 85% of the acid has been neutralized , & to colourless  when the solution is totally neutralized. Whenever possible, the solution should be heated to 60°C.Neutralised  solutions can be re-activated by adding more RXSOL-54-1008-025  until the red colour reappears.

Fields: Descaling of  Boilers, Descaling  of Diesel Engine Cooling Systems, Condenser, Pipeline collection system, Evaporators, Calorifiers, Heat Exchangers,The strength of the acid can be enhanced by adding 1part sodium chloride (common salt) to 20 parts of Descalex. If salt is not available, an acceptable alternative is to dissolve RXSOL-54-1008-025  in sea water. After use of RXSOL-54-1008-025  a  0.5% solution of Alkalinity Control in fresh  water should be used for neutralization.

Applications

RXSOL-54-1048-020  is mixed with fresh water 3 to 20 percent depending on deposition of scaling.

If the equipment to be cleaned is contaminated by oil, grease, sludge or carbonized oil, then first of all clean the system with degreaser  RXSOL-10-1005. RXSOL-54-1048-020 should be mixed with fresh water to form a solution of 10-30%, depending on the extent of scaling. After using RXSOL-54-1048-020 ,

PRECAUTION :::it is essential to thoroughly rinse all metal surfaces at least once with a 0.5% solution of  RXSO-20-2005  in fresh water. This solution should be circulated for 2-4 hours or until an acceptable pH value is obtained. This will neutralize any remaining acidity & passivate steel surfaces.

Dosage

Recommended Dilution and Application

After using  RXSOL-54-1048-020, sense all metal surfaces with 0.5 percent of  RXSOL-10-1005, at least 2-4 hour , up to neutral of PH value.

The engine room is the heart of any vessel, responsible for the propulsion and essential power systems that keep the ship running smoothly. Proper engine room maintenance is critical to ensuring safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. At RXMARINE International, we specialize in providing high-quality marine chemicals that enhance maintenance procedures, keeping vessels in top condition.

Why Engine Room Maintenance Matters

• Prevents Downtime & Costly Repairs: Regular inspections help detect early signs of wear and tear, reducing expensive breakdowns.

• Enhances Fuel Efficiency: A well-maintained engine operates efficiently, cutting down fuel consumption and operational costs.

• Ensures Crew Safety: Proper maintenance minimizes the risk of hazardous incidents such as fires, leaks, or mechanical failures.

• Regulatory Compliance: Compliance with international maritime regulations (IMO, SOLAS) is essential to avoid fines and ensure smooth sailing.

Key Aspects of Engine Room Maintenance

1. Cleaning & Degreasing

The accumulation of oil, grease, and dirt can lead to overheating and reduced efficiency. Using RXMARINE’s Engine Room Cleaners & Degreasers, you can effectively remove sludge, carbon deposits, and oil residues.

2. Lubrication System Maintenance

• Regular oil changes using high-quality marine lubricants help prevent friction and wear.

• Monitoring oil viscosity and contamination is crucial to detect potential engine issues early.

3. Cooling System Efficiency

• Scale and corrosion in heat exchangers and cooling lines reduce efficiency. Descaling chemicals like RXMARINE’s RXSCALE help prevent blockages and maintain optimal cooling.

• Ensure coolant levels are checked regularly to prevent overheating.

4. Fuel System Treatment

• Fuel contamination with water, sludge, and microbial growth can affect engine performance. Using fuel additives and biocides prevents clogging and improves combustion efficiency.

• Regularly clean fuel injectors and filters to maintain smooth operation.

5. Bilge Cleaning & Oil Spill Management

• The bilge area accumulates oil and sludge, which can pose environmental and safety hazards.

• RXMARINE’s Oil Spill Dispersants & Bilge Cleaners effectively break down oil and prevent pollution.

6. Corrosion Prevention

• Saltwater exposure accelerates corrosion in pipes, tanks, and metal surfaces.

• Apply corrosion inhibitors and protective coatings to extend the life of engine room components.

Best Practices for Engine Room Maintenance

• Implement a Routine Inspection Schedule – Daily, weekly, and monthly checks help identify problems early.
• Train Crew Members – Ensure engineers and crew are well-trained in maintenance procedures.
• Use High-Quality Marine Chemicals – Investing in premium cleaning, degreasing, and protective products ensures longevity and efficiency.
• Document Maintenance Activities – Keeping detailed logs helps in audits, repairs, and regulatory compliance.

Useful area

Why is Dismantling essential before CHEMICAL CLEANING operation ?
Dismantling of both ends and internal parts, separation from the recirculation chamber is most important, and before initiation leakage testing are common procedures for any tube heat exchangers.

Ans : Unexpected consequences can happen where tube walls have weakened due to long and continuous running and deposition of scale and water dissolved mineral chemical reaction. During reactive cleaning, chemical cleaning eliminates all depositions that can result in puncture to the tubes where tube walls have weakened due to scale deposition and reaction.

Cleaning Procedure

1. Shut down and isolate the equipment.

2. Identify the metallurgy and nature of the deposits.

3. Remove loose dirt and debris where practical.

4. Prepare the cleaning solution using clean water.

5. Circulate or apply the diluted cleaner to the compatible surfaces.

6. Monitor deposit removal, temperature and metal compatibility.

7. Drain and collect the spent solution.

8. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

9. Neutralize and dispose of spent cleaning solution in accordance with local requirements.

10. Inspect the equipment before returning it to service.

Before using on Aluminium, take sample use this general procedure for small area of aluminium fin packs BEFORE FULL set of CLEANING.
