Magnesium fluoride is an inorganic compound with the formula MgF2. The compound is a white crystalline salt and is transparent over a wide range of wavelengths, with commercial uses in optics that are also used in space telescopes. It occurs naturally as the rare mineral sellaite.
Note
The main application of magnesium fluoride is in optics, due to its distinctive transparency over a wide range of wavelengths. It is evaporated under vacuum to form anti-reflective layers.
Magnesium fluoride is commonly used in the ceramic industry, in the production of ceramic frites and enamels, in the nuclear industry, and for surface treatments.
Magnesium Fluoride dosage 10 to 20 mg/kg of elemental Magnesium Fluoride per dose orally 4 times a day. Use Magnesium Fluoride gluconate oral liquid.
