n-Hexanol is a colorless liquid with a fruity odor. It is used as a flavoring additive, as an insecticide, in the processing of leather, and in the manufacture of antiseptics, perfumes, plasticizers and other chemicals. * n-Hexanol is on the Hazardous Substance List because it is cited by DOT and NFPA.

Note

Incompatible with strong acids, acid chlorides, acid anhydrides and strong oxidizing agents.

H 1387 (OTTO) 1-Hexanol, GR 99%+ Cas 111-27-3 - used in the perfume industry. This colorless liquid is slightly soluble in water, but miscible with diethyl ether and ethanol.

Acute oral doses of 50 or 500 mg/kg bw and repeated oral doses of 50 mg/kg bw/day
