Dichloromethane (DCM or methylene chloride) is an organochloride compound with the formula CH2Cl2. This colorless, volatile liquid with a chloroform-like, sweet odour is widely used as a solvent. Although it is not miscible with water, it is polar, and miscible with many organic solvents.
Dichloromethane is an organic substance with a molecular formula of CH2Cl2. It is a colorless and transparent liquid with a pungent odor similar to ether. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether, it is a non-flammable low-boiling solvent under normal conditions of use. When its vapor becomes a high concentration in high-temperature air, it will generate a weakly combustible mixed gas, which is often used instead of flammable Petroleum ether, ether, etc.

Product Applications
Dichloromethane has strong solubility and no toxicity etc advantages.
It is wide used for manufacturing safety film and orthocarbonate and can also be used for solvent
of paint, cleaner for metal, gas-fog spray agents po; yurethane foaming agent, mold-release agent,
paint remover. Dichloromethane is also used in the manufacture of photographic film and has
been to remove caffeine from coffee.
Methylene chloride uses
1.Dichloromethane has the advantages of strong solubility and low toxicity. It is widely used in the manufacture of safety film and polycarbonate. The rest are used as coating solvent, metal
degreasing agent, gas smoke spray agent, polyurethane foaming agent, release agent and paint remover.
2.Dichloromethane is a colorless liquid, which is used as reaction medium in pharmaceutical industry to prepare ampicillin, hydroxybenzylpenicillin and vancomycin; It is also used as solvent,
oil dewaxing solvent, aerosol propellant, organic synthesis extractant, polyurethane foaming agent and metal cleaning agent in film production.
DCM's volatility and ability to dissolve a wide range of organic compounds makes it a useful solvent for many chemical processes. In the food industry, it is used to decaffeinate coffee and tea as well as to prepare extracts of hops and other flavourings. Its volatility has led to its use as an aerosol spray propellant and as a blowing agent for polyurethane foams.
