Scale in a boiler, chiller or heat exchanger needs the right descaling liquid and the right paperwork. This is how a descaling order moves from our Barka Industrial Area warehouse to your site, with the dosage, storage and safety facts you need first.
When scale builds up in your boiler, chiller or heat exchanger, you need a descaling liquid that comes with clear dosing and safety data, from a chemical supplier Barka Oman plants can call directly. We are Muscat Chemical, based in Barka Industrial Area, and we keep descaling liquid in stock in Oman. Every order goes through five steps before the container is standing at your site: choosing the grade, packing, documents, transport and receiving.
Chemical Supplier Barka Oman: Why the Location Matters
Barka is on the Batinah coast west of Muscat, on the road between the capital and Sohar. That puts us close to plants in Muscat and along the Batinah coast.
Our product records show ready stock of descaling liquid in Oman. We work on quotation only. Tell us the equipment, the scale problem and the volume, and we reply with the grade and the packing.
Step One: Matching the Descaler Grade to Your Equipment
Descaling liquids are acid-based cleaners. A typical formulation blends the acid with descaling accelerators, corrosion inhibitors and wetting agents. The acid dissolves calcium carbonate scale, rust and mineral deposits, and the inhibitors protect the base metal. Industrial boiler grades of this type are often sold as inhibited acid cleaners. They penetrate and disperse acid-soluble deposits, and they can clean equipment without full dismantling.
Composition varies by grade. Heavy-duty marine and industrial descalers typically contain hydrochloric acid at about 25 to 40% w/w. Other grades use phosphoric acid, or organic acids such as citric acid at about 30 to 60% (typical). The acid type decides the hazard class, so it is the first thing to check on the safety data sheet.
We list several grades. Our general Descaling Liquid RXSOL-11-1008-020 is used on boilers, evaporators, condensers and heat exchangers. RXSOL-11-1008-025 covers boilers, calorifiers, heat exchangers, diesel engine cooling systems, condensers and evaporators. The ScaleX Pro Descaling Liquid RXSOL-11-1008-002 is the same 1008 family. Our record states that the 1008 descaler can dissolve approximately 1.5kg of calcium carbonate scale per gallon in concentrated form, and that it does not need to be heated during cleaning.
Check the metal before you order. Our records describe the 1008 descaler as soft on ferrous metals, and the 1008-025 grade as safe for stainless steel, glass, ceramic and most metals. Do not use concentrated 1008 on aluminium surfaces. If your system mixes steel, copper and aluminium, send us the details with your enquiry and we will confirm the grade before packing.
Step Two: Packing, Part Numbers and the MSDS
The 20 litre pack, RXSOL-16-1008-020, is listed on our site. Industrial descaling liquid is typically packed in 25 L cans and 210 L drums. Tell us how much your system holds and we will quote the packing that fits it.
Ask for the MSDS with your quotation so your HSE team can approve the product before it arrives. MSDS records are held for RXSOL-11-1008-002, RXSOL-11-1008-020 and RXSOL-11-1008-025.

Step Three: Storage and Loading, with Acids Kept Apart from Solvents
The typical SDS for an acid descaler says to store it in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place, in a tightly closed container of the same material as the original. Reseal opened containers and keep them upright. Store away from strong bases, strong oxidising agents and strong reducing agents.
Flammable solvents such as isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and mineral spirit must be kept in a separate bay, away from acids. If one order contains both a descaler and a solvent, keep them apart on the truck and in your own store.
A hydrochloric-acid-based descaling liquid is water-based and non-flammable, so flash point does not apply. The danger is corrosion. These grades typically carry the Danger signal word with H314 causes severe skin burns and eye damage, H318 serious eye damage and H335 may cause respiratory irritation. The hydrogen chloride component is also classed H290, may be corrosive to metals. Milder organic-acid (citric) descalers are typically labelled Warning, H319 causes serious eye irritation.
Step Four: Delivery to Your Site in Oman
Tell us the site location with your enquiry and we will discuss delivery with your quote, so you can plan the shutdown or cleaning window around it.
The same ScaleX Pro grade is also listed on Sohar Chemical and on Salalah Chemical. For vessel and project work in Al Wusta, read our page on descaling liquid supply to Duqm port.
Step Five: Receiving, Dosing and Finishing the Job
When the delivery arrives, store it as described above, and keep an eyewash and emergency shower marked nearby. Your crew should wear nitrile gloves (about 0.4 mm, breakthrough over 480 min), safety glasses with side shields or goggles, and protective coveralls. Do not breathe vapour or mist, and use local exhaust if ventilation is poor. No eating or smoking in the work area.
If the equipment is contaminated by oil, grease, sludge or carbonised oil, clean it first with degreaser RXSOL-10-1005. Our product sheet sets the dosage at 3 to 20 percent in fresh water, depending on how much scale is deposited. For boilers, evaporators, condensers, heat exchangers and closed systems, the most effective method is circulation at approximately 40-60°C, for 6-12 hours, with solutions of 5-40% in water. Heavier scale needs a stronger solution. Small components can be soaked in an immersion bath.
Pump the solution in at a low point of the condenser or exchanger and let it exit at a high point. General guidance for this product class gives a typical circulation time of 8 to 16 hours while you monitor pH. If the pH rises above about 3, the acid is used up and you add more concentrate. Check filters during the clean, because loosened scale can block flow.
Afterwards, flush the system with fresh water until the rinse pH is above 6. Our record then calls for rinsing all metal surfaces with 0.5 percent of RXSOL-10-1005 for at least 2-4 hours, until the pH is neutral. Do not let spent solution or spills reach drains, sewers or surface water. Contain spills with sand, earth or vermiculite, and dispose of contents and containers at an approved waste disposal facility under local regulations.
For eye contact, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, including under the eyelids, and get medical help immediately. For skin contact, remove contaminated clothing and rinse with water. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. For condenser and cooler work, our guide to descaling liquid for condensers and coolers in Oman covers the method in more detail.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you keep descaling liquid in stock in Oman, or import each order?
Our product records show ready stock of descaling liquid in Oman. Contact us from Barka Industrial Area with your volume and site location and we will advise on supply and delivery with your quote.
Can descaling liquid be used on aluminium?
Do not use concentrated 1008 on aluminium surfaces. Strong mineral-acid descalers contain inhibitors to protect ferrous metals, but they are not meant for concentrated use on aluminium. Send us your metallurgy and we will confirm the grade.
How long should I circulate the solution through a heat exchanger or chiller?
Our product sheet gives 6-12 hours at approximately 40-60°C with solutions of 5-40% in water. General guidance for this class gives a typical 8 to 16 hours while you monitor pH, and you add concentrate if the pH rises above about 3.
Can I clean a boiler or condenser without dismantling it?
Yes. Our record states that equipment can be cleaned in hours without taking any part of it apart, using the circulation method through the waterside of the system.
Do you supply an MSDS with descaling liquid?
We hold MSDS records for RXSOL-11-1008-002, RXSOL-11-1008-020 and RXSOL-11-1008-025. Ask for the MSDS with your quotation so your HSE team can approve the product before delivery.
